The American Jewish Committee delegation touring South America were the guests yesterday at a banquet tendered by Israel Minister Samuel Goren and were honored tonight with a reception provided by the Santiago Jewish community. The delegates, headed by President: Irving M. Engel and Honorary President Jacob Blaustein, paid courtesy visits to Chilean Cardinal Josemaria Caro and Foreign Minister Alberto Sepulveda.
Among the guests at the banquet were representatives of the Chilean Foreign Ministry and the Ambassadors of France and Uruguay and the American Charge d’Affaires. The delegation was met at the Santiago airport Friday by Mr. Goren, Roberto Levy, president of the Jewish Central Committee, Israel Pollak, president of the Zionist Federation and other leaders of the Jewish community.
