Israel Minister of Communications Leaves for U.s.; Will Seek to Acquire Equipment

Dov Joseph, Israel’s Minister of Communications and Transportation, left by plane today for the United States to participate in the campaigns for the United Jewish Appeal and for the sale of Israeli bonds. Prior to departure, he said he would seek possibilities in the United States to obtain necessary equipment for every branch of his ministry.

He revealed that plans for the immediate future include the enlargening and opening of Haifa harbor to enable ocean-going vessels to enter it, to build a free port in the Kishon River estuary, building a large harbor at Tel Aviv and extension had improvement of Israel’s telecommunications system.
