The first official reaction to the widespread criticism of Israel’s new draft law on press libel came today from Justice Minister Dov Joseph.
Addressing the National Council of the Chamber of Advocates, he said the sweeping measure was necessary and “a good thing” for the nation. He said he would reply to press attacks on the measure only when he submits it to Israel’s Parliament.
