“Israel must and will help solve the Arab refugee problem by constructive methods,” Dr. Nahum Goldmann, acting chairman of the American section of the Jewish Agency, declared here at a fund-raising dinner of the United Israel Appeal. “Israel will help in their resettlement in Arab countries, thus avoiding the creation of a dangerous minority problem in Israel,” he added.
“Wartime solidarity and discipline of ten break down under peaceful conditions, while defeated countries retain their unity and devotion to duty,” Dr. Goldmann stated. “In this way the Jews, victors in 1948, may lose their gains during the next two years if they forget the bigger problems now facing them,” he added.
