Israel placed fourth in the Eurovision song contest. “The Silence that Remains,” a ballad performed by 24-year-old Shiri Maimon on behalf of the Jewish state, beat expectations by placing relatively high at the annual songfest. Israel lost out to Greece, which was followed by Malta and Romania.
