Israel plans to develop the Western Wall. The Cabinet approved plans on Sunday to make Judaism’s most important prayer site, and its adjoining plaza, more accessible to worshipers and tourists. Prime Minister Ariel Sharon said the project would “lead to more families and young people visiting the Western Wall and connecting with our roots. Approximately five million people visit the Western Wall every year. I would like to see a significant increase.”
