Israel plans to resume air strikes against Palestinian terrorists in the Gaza Strip. Defense Minister Shaul Mofaz gave a green light to the policy of “targeted killings,” which had been on hold for weeks, following rocket launches from Gaza into Israel on Saturday and Sunday. No one was hurt in the latest salvoes, but two rockets hit Shuva, a moshav five miles from the Gaza boundary that had not previously been reached. Israeli forces responded over the weekend with air strikes and artillery barrages against fields used by Palestinian rocket crews, but security sources said Monday that such operations, which exact no casualties, are increasingly seen as ineffective.
