The Israel population has been “sorely tried” by incessant acts of Arab aggression against the border settlements and are demanding that “an end be put, on one way or another, to the perpetual threats against their lives and property,” the Israel Foreign Office warned here today.
A statement by the Foreign Office noted that in the past several weeks Israel settlers in the areas bordering on the Gaza strip and Jordan have maintained an “iron restraint in the face of continuing and unabated acts of murder and terror emanating from those territories.”
The statement stressed that five Israelis had been killed, eight wounded, and nineteen cases of theft or attempted theft had taken place recently during 41 distinct incursions. Damage to property was estimated at 100,000 pounds.
