Israel’s postal service began today operating at full capacity for the first time in more than a month after the 150 postal workers at the Tel Aviv Post Office returned to work this weekend following a special appeal by Minister of Posts Eliahu Sasson.
Mr. Sasson’s appeal at a meeting of the workers came after the Tel Aviv postmen decided to continue the monthlong slowdown which had already been ended by other post office workers in the country. It is estimated that it will take about two weeks to eliminate the backlog of some 3, 000, 000 items of mail which accumulated here during the slowdown.
