Premier David Ben Gurion may shortly visit Ghana, Finance Minister Levi Eshkol announced here today at a Histadrut function called to mark the first anniversary of the Independence of the West African dominion. Mr, Eshkol did not elaborate further, but stressed the friendship which has developed between Israel and Ghana.
The celebration was attended by a trade union delegation from Ghana, which is in Israel studying the local trade union organizational set-up. Three hundred leading Israelis attended the event which was concluded with the singing of Israeli and Ghanian songs.
In Accra, Israel Foreign Minister Golda Meir told University of Ghana students today that Israel is only too happy to share her knowledge and experience with newly organized states. Israel, she added, wants peace with all countries, including the Arab states The Jewish State is faced with the double problem of building a new country and defending her borders at the same time, yet she will continue to promote peace in the Middle East and throughout the world, Mrs. Meir asserted.)
