Premier David Ben Gurion today reiterated his warning against the “dangerous thinking” that the war between Israel and the Arabs is over. He spoke at Ein Harod at a regional conference of the Mapai Party, which he heads.
Victory comes with the last battle, and this has not as yet arrived, the Israel Premier told the conference. The Arab countries, he said, have not yet agreed to the idea of Israel’s independence, therefore Israel must increase its strength and productive power as a security measure.
In Jerusalem, Chief of Staff Yigal Yadin said today that “every day Jewish soldiers are killed and wounded while defending the frontiers of Israel.” He spoke before a class of newly-graduated military nurses who were recruited from the ranks of the Israelis and from the immigrant population.
