Senior Israeli ambassadors and senior Foreign Ministry officials will meet in Jerusalem to map plans for the opening of the General Assembly next month and to discuss various problems that are anticipated during the Assembly session. It was reliably learned that Egypt is preparing a wide-scale diplomatic attack on Israel in an effort to indict her in the world body. The Egyptians, according to reports, are planning to launch this offensive at a meeting of the non-aligned states scheduled to meet in Algeria beginning Sept. 5.
The meeting of the Israeli ambassadors and ministry officials is due to take place when Foreign Minister Abba Eban returns from his visit to South America and the United States. It was reported earlier that Eban is due to meet with United Nations Secretary General Kurt Waldheim while he is in New York. Eban will preside over the meeting of the ambassadors and Foreign Ministry officials.
