An important new chemical invention has been discovered by President Chaim Weizmann and Dr. David E. Bergman, director of Weizmann Institute of Science at Rehovoth, it was announced here today. The invention is a result of experiments conducted during the past few weeks at the Weizmann Institute.
Details of the invention were not made public. However, it is known that the invention involves new methods of cracking petroleum as well as some products of petroleum. The invention is said to be of considerable importance to the chemical industry.
