President Itzhak Ben Zvi attended the premiere here tonight of the Hebrew version of ”The Diary of Anne Frank. ” The performance was staged by Israel’s famed Habimah Theatre.
At the same time, two wreaths were being flown from Israel to Amsterdam to be laid at the foot of a monument in the Dutch city honoring the memory of Netherlands workers killed by the Nazis after they went on strike to protest Nazi persecution of Holland’s Jews. The ceremony will be hold in conjunction with Amsterdam longshoremen’s observance of the anniversary of the anti-Nazi strike. The wreaths were sent by the Jerusalem municipality and the Habimah.
