Israel has protested to the Israel-Jordan Mixed Armistice Commission against three incidents in the last few days in which Arabs crossed the border into Israel.
A Jewish watchman in a settlement in the Jerusalem area was ambushed and riddled with bullets last night. The dead man’s arms were stolen by the marauders. He was the father of eight children.
In an attack Monday night, Jordanian forces killed a watchman at another Israeli village near Jerusalem. At Israel’s request a United Nations investigator checked the incident. In another incident, Jordanian armed forces were driven off, taking one of their casualties with them.
