Israel filed a sharp protest with the Security Council here today against Jordan, accusing the Amman Government of a “gross violation” of the Jordanian-Israeli armistice agreement by carrying out an unprovoked attack against an Israeli road-repair gang in the Mount Hebron area, resulting in the death of two Israelis and the wounding of three others, two of them seriously.
The complaint — which did not request a meeting of the Security Council — was handed to Dr. J.G. de Beus, this month’s president of the Council, by Ambassador Michael S. Comay, Israel’s permanent representative at the U.N.
