Israel has became the first country to accede to the 1952 International Labor Office convention on vacations with pay for agricultural workers. Yesterday Israel deposited at the Geneva headquarters of the International Labor Organization the instrument of ratification.
The convention, which was adopted by the ILO’s annual conference last year, is supplemented by a formal recommendation suggesting that the minimum length of a paid vacation should be one week for one year’s service. The convention will come into force for ratifying countries 12 months after a second ratification is registered.
