An agreement covering the supply of oil to Israel in 1955 by British oil companies has been reached following negotiations between a delegation representing the Israel Government and Shell Oil Company of Palestine and Consolidated Refineries, Ltd., the Israel Embassy stated today.
Both the Embassy and the oil companies are reticent about the pact, but it is understood that Israel considers the outcome of negotiations satisfactory and the price reasonable. Although the question of refining oil supplies at the Haifa refineries was touched upon during the talks, it is understood that this was never a major point of discussion.
