Israel has recalled its Minister to South Africa, Simcha Pratt, and will henceforth be represented there by a Charge D’Affaires. The move is understood to have been made in the spirit of continuing criticism of South Africa in the United Nations over its apartheid policy.
While the return of Simcha Pratt was formerly described as completion of a tour of duty, it was learned that Israel will not name a successor Minister.
