Revenue from tourists visiting Israel in 1949 amounted to about $16,800,000, it was announced today.
Citrus exports for 1949 exceeded 900,000 cases, it was also announced today. Britain received 528,000 cases and Eire, 30,000. In the first half of January 300,000 cases of oranges and 100,000 cases of grapefruit are scheduled to be shipped to Britain, with a half-million cases to be shipped in the second half of the month. An additional half-million cases will be shipped to continental Europe.
