Israel refused to evacuate parts of an Arab village straddling the border with Lebanon. Prime Minister Ariel Sharon on Wednesday turned down suggestions that residents of the Lebanese half of Ghajar should be moved to Israel to lessen the risk of Hezbollah infiltration. Last November, the Lebanese terrorist group stormed Ghajar in a failed bid to kidnap Israeli troops.
