Israel rejected a request by Palestinian lawmakers to meet next month in Ramallah under the auspices of Yasser Arafat. “No Palestinian Cabinet headed or directed by Arafat will be recognized or accepted by the State of Israel,” said a statement from the office of Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon.
