Israel rejected a truce offered by Hamas and Islamic Jihad. The military wings of the two terrorist organizations and two groups affiliated with Palestinian Authority President Yasser Arafat’s Fatah movement made the offer Sunday. They said they would halt attacks within Israel for a week if Israel stopped its policy of targeted assassinations, bombings and other military actions in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.
