Israel released a Lebanese national held in administrative detention for 14 years. Rassan Dirani is the nephew of former Mustafa Dirani, a leader of the Shi’ite Amal movement who was abducted from his home by Israeli commandos in 1994. Mustafa Dirani is still being held as a bargaining chip for the return of Israeli airman Ron Arad, who was shot down over Lebanon in 1982.
