Miss Frances Hagen, 29-year-old American woman convicted and sentenced by an Israel court of having spied for a Syrian diplomat, was released from prison today and immediately placed aboard a New York-bound plane. Miss Hagen, who was sentenced to a year in prison, was released after eight months because of good behavior in prison.
Miss Hagen was accompanied to the plane by American Embassy officials who provided her with a limited passport–good only for travel to the United States. At all airports where the plane lands she will be met by American foreign service personnel who will assure that she does not alter her itinerary.
