Foreign Ministry officials said today Israel had again applied to Britain for arrangements to allow Israeli tourists to visit Britain without visas. Previous bids have been rejected.
Israel long ago abolished visas for British tourists visiting Israel but formalities for Israelis visiting Britain are particularly cumbersome. Efforts are also underway to obtain abolition of visa requirements for other European countries, particularly Switzerland, France and Italy.
