Brazil was requested by Israel today to extradite Yitzhak Sharam, former clerk in the Municipality of Tel Aviv, who is accused of embezzling Tel Aviv city funds.
An extradition treaty between Israel and Brazil was signed several weeks ago, and still awaits formal approval by the parliaments of both countries. However, Brazil was asked by Israel to make a special case of Sharam, and permit his extradition even before the treaty goes into full effect.
