Israel, though placed in the very heart of the Middle Eastern tinder box, is a safety valve for the peace of the Middle East, and may be regarded as the most dramatic demonstration of the superiority of democracy over all other forms of government, Ira A. Hirschmann declared at a press conference here yesterday upon his return from a trip which took him to Yugoslavia and Israel. Mr. Hirschmann is national chairman of the newly organized Foundation of the Jewish National Fund. The Foundation was established to derive funds from living legacies, bequests and insurance to increase the Jewish National Fund’s income.
