Israel said five grenades were thrown at Israeli soldiers stationed in the southern Gaza Strip near the border with Egypt. The soldiers returned fire, but no injuries were reported. In another incident, Palestinian gunfire hit a synagogue in the settlement of Neveh Dekalim in the southern Gaza Strip.
