Principals of Israel elementary schools will stage a one-day strike tomorrow to back demands that principals over 50 years of age should have their work-week cut from 30 to 28 hours. Teachers over 50 in the schools have such a work arrangement.

The demand was rejected by the Ministry of Education which considers it unjustified. The Ministry contended that functions of the principals were administrative and that all civil service personnel work the same hours until 65 when they are pensionable. The strike, which has been approved by the Teachers Association, is to be resumed indefinitely if the demand is not met, representatives of the principals said.
