Israel sealed off the West Bank and Gaza Strip for the Independence Day holidays. The closure was imposed Saturday and is due to be lifted after Yom Hazikaron and Yom Ha’atzmaut, or Memorial Day and Independence Day, which run from Sunday night to Tuesday. Military sources said there were scores of intelligence alerts about planned Palestinian terrorist attacks. Special travel permits would be issued to Palestinians on humanitarian grounds, the sources said.
