Israel is making efforts to obtain an additional $20, 000,000 loan from France after completing use of the $30,000,000 loaned last year, it was learned today.
It was also disclosed that the Israel Industrial Institute is to receive a $5,000,000 loan from the United States Development Fund for purchase of machinery and spare parts. Last year $15, 000,000 was received from the Development Fund.
Larger grants are expected this year from United States farm surpluses, it was indicated, to make up for Israel drought losses of last winter which have been estimated at 20,000,000 pounds.
