A discussion of methods for encouraging immigration to Israel from the United States and Canada was held at the Foreign Ministry today, on the initiative of Foreign Minister Moshe Sharett.
A Ministry spokesman revealed that plans drawn up at the parley called for providing housing and business opportunities for American and Canadian immigrants. He refused to elaborate on the plans.
The spokesman also confirmed that a protest note had been received from the French Government over an attack on a Catholic priest in Jaffa. He added that the Foreign Ministry was investigating the incident.
