The Government of Israel is trying to organize world-wide resistance of chambers of commerce and similar business groups against the intensification of the Arab anti-Israel boycott, Moshe Leshem, Foreign Ministry spokesman, said today.
“The Jewish people have taught the world that discrimination never stops with a single group, “he stated. “Once you tolerate it against anyone, the way is opened for continuing discrimination against others. This is true of Egypt’s Suez Canal blockade and trade as well.”
Declaring that the problem would not be solved until the six-point Security Council resolution of last October on operation of the Suez Canal was implemented, he added that “for the time being,” Israel was thinking in terms of use of diplomatic channels to fight the Arab boycott rather than more direct action.
