American industrial and managerial know-how is being sought in an effort to spur the development of export-oriented industries in Israel, according to Yehuda Gill, director of the Government of Israel Investment Authority in the United States. Mr. Gill was guest speaker today at a luncheon meeting of the American-Israel Chamber of Commerce at the Waldorf-Astoria.
“As part of our approach to expansion, ” he said, “we are looking for investments that are tied in with know-how. We cannot meet our goals without the cooperation of industrial leaders in other countries, especially the United States. We are looking for people who can tell us how to improve and run our industries more efficiently, and I hope they are looking for us. “
He cited the particular value of this know-how to the development and expansion of industries geared toward export production. He reported that Israel’s industrial forecast calls for industrial exports of $750, 000, 000 by 1970. The 1965 total was approximately $350,000,000.
