The Zim shipping company is contemplating a ship construction program which will add 35 new vessels to its fleet, the company announced today. Five of the ships will be huge 20,000 ton tankers.
An executive of the firm, J. Brefel, recently toured West European shipyards discussing the possibilities of placing such orders. If the government approves the construction program, it was pointed out, the new vessels could all be in service within four years.
