Israel should implement the Wye accord, U.S. officials said after the Israeli Cabinet voted to freeze implementation. “We would hope that the Israeli government as well as the Palestinians would live up to the letter and spirit of the agreement,” U.S. National Security Adviser Sandy Berger told CNN. U.S. officials have called on Israel to live up to the accord even if new elections are held there.
