Israel was among 15 governments which signed here today a new international convention on family support adopted by a special conference which has been in session here since May 29. Israel was among the strongest backers of the new international treaty which is designed to alleviate the lot of wives and children abandoned by husbands or fathers who have moved to another country. Under the convention a dependent residing in one country will be able to sue a debtor in another land for the purpose of obtaining and enforcing a judgment.
