Dr. Joseph Burg, Israel’s Social Welfare Minister, was welcomed yesterday in the ceremonial hall of city headquarters by Mayor Jean Drapeau. He left for New York today. The Montreal visit was one of a series Dr. Burg is making to major communities in Canada and the United States for the Israel Bond drive.
( Trade union leaders here have launched a campaign in New York today to raise $1,000,000 in Israel bonds, it was announced here by M. Michael Potoker, secretary-treasurer of the Newspaper Guild of New York. The campaign will be in honor of Morris lushewitz, secretary of the Central Labor Council here.)
