One Israel soldier was killed and two were wounded in a clash with armed Arab infiltrees last night that took place in the Sharon district.
More than 500 Arab infiltrees have been apprehended in the Jerusalem district, Levi Abrahami, superintendent of the Jerusalem district police, told a news conference here today. Most of the infiltrees were seized with arms, he said, adding that their weapons were confiscated and the infiltrees turned over to the Israel Army.
The Arab infiltraes killed ten Jews and eight Arabs and carried out 200 robberies and thefts resulting in damages amounting to approximately $90,000. Discussing the crime wave here, Superintendent Abrahami said that Jerusalem remains the “cleanest city,” with only one murder and 726 petty offenses committed in the period under review.
