Israel soon will have its first Secular Humanistic rabbi. Rabbi Sivan Mass is due to be ordained Oct. 24 at the International Institute for Secular Humanistic Judaism in Farmington Hills, Mich., and will then go to Israel to lead the Jewish state’s first Secular Humanistic rabbinic education program with 11 students in Jerusalem, according to the Center for Cultural Judaism in New York.
