Israel and South Vietnam signed a mutual recognition agreement today and agreed to an exchange of ambassadors “immediately,” according to an official announcement here. The agreement was apparently signed in Phnom Penh although official spokesmen here did not want to say so officially. South Vietnam’s Embassy will be in Jerusalem, it was agreed. The agreement said in part: “With the aim of furthering friendship and cooperation in economics, technology, and cultural relations between Israel and the Republic of South Vietnam, the two governments decide to establish diplomatic relations between the two countries forthwith at the level of Ambassadors.”
