The Government has decided to continue commercial advertising on Kol Yisrael, the State’s radio network, on a permanent basis, it was reported here today. Radio commercials had been tried on a temporary basis for the past six months on the network’s afternoon broadcasts, which were interspersed with brief advertising messages.
Revenues from the radio commercials will be used to finance special daily broadcasts for tourists in English and French, it was disclosed here today. The commercials during the trial period had resulted in a net profit to the network of 80, 000 pounds ($44, 800), it was learned.
