Four Israel students are among a group of 38 foreign “junior technicians” brought to Washington by the Technical Cooperation Administration as the climax of a six-week orientation program related to Point Four activity.
The visit of the group to Washington followed an intensive Point Four seminar at Michigan State College. Included in the group were a number of Arab students from Jordan, Egypt, and Iraq who displayed a friendly attitude toward the Israelis until the students were brought to Washington. Here the Arabs refused to pose with Israelis in TCA photographs.
Harold E. Stassen, Director of the Mutual Security Agency, addressed the students last night at a dinner in their honor attended by officials of the Israel and Arab embassies as well as embassy officials from other countries represented by students.
