The Israel Students Union decided today not to send a delegation to the forthcoming international youth festival in Moscow this summer unless it is permitted to make its arrangements independent of any other group.
The non-Communist group was prepared to send a delegation of 80 young men and women to Moscow, but was told to make its arrangements jointly with the Israel Festival Committee. “We see the Festival Committee as part of the Communist Party and we are not willing to discuss with them our delegation, ” the Israel Students Union declared. It is a waiting a reply from Moscow on whether an independent delegation will be accepted.
