Israel representatives at the United Nations will condemn the anti-Jewish character of the Prague “purge” trial either at the U.N. General Assembly or at a session of one of the United Nations committees, a government spokesman told the press here today.
At a meeting of the Israel Cabinet today it was decided to hold a special session of the Cabinet on the Prague issue immediately after the return to Tel Aviv of Dr. Arieh Kubovi, Israel’s Minister to Czechoslovakia, who was summoned here to submit a detailed report on the proceedings of the trial. Dr. Kubovi is due to arrive from Prague late tonight or tomorrow.
(A resolution describing the Czech purge trials as “deliberate stirring of latent anti-Semitism among the peoples of Eastern Europe, “and “a crime against humanity” was unanimously adopted in New York last night by delegates to the twenty-ninth annual convention of the National Committee for Labor Israel. The Committee called upon both the United States and the United Nations “to investigate the legal and moral aspects of the Prague trials which have become an instrument of foul and dangerous propaganda.”)
