Mordechai Shneerson, Charge d’Affaires at the Israel Embassy in Paris, returned to Paris tonight after meeting with Israel Government officials to discuss the decision of the Renault company–owned by the French state–to end operations in Israel under a reported threat of an Arab League boycott.
Mr. Shneerson was expected to convey to the French Government the “grave view” which the Israel Government held toward the decision, reportedly considered one of the worst examples of big company bowing to Arab boycott threats. Renault has an assembly plant partnership with the Kaiser-Frazer company and the Willys operations in Haifa.
