Prof. E.D. Bergman, chairman of Israel’s Atomic Energy Commission, will head the Israel delegation to the forthcoming international parley on atomic energy opening in Vienna tomorrow. The parley will discuss the organization of a permanent body to be established by the United Nations for the development of peaceful uses of atomic energy.
A youthful, leading Israeli nuclear scientist will spend one year collaborating on research with the European Center for Nuclear Research in Switzerland, it was announced today. He is Amos de Shalit, 31-year-old director of the Nuclear Research Division of the Weizmann Institute of Science at Rehovoth, Israel. He will be working here under a Ford Foundation Grant.
