Israel will ask the United States for $90, 000, 000 to $100, 000, 000 in financial and other forms of aid in the coming fiscal year. It was reported here today. The detailed plans of the first project, an irrigation program utilizing the waters of the Jordan River, are expected to be handed to Washington in the next two weeks.
Other aid projects which Israel will put before the U.S. are: an additional U.S. Export Import Bank loan for local irrigation schemes not connected with the Jordan River program; surplus food stocks; material purchases; special financial assistance; aid from the Development Loan Fund; technical assistance and Information Media Guarantee grants.
The Accountant General of Israel withdrew today his ten-day-old ban on the expenditure of cash from the national Treasury. Instructions were issued when cash balances dwindled as tax receipts dropped while expenditures continued to mount.
