Thirty Mexican farmers will be sent to Israel in the near future for a three-month course in agronomy under Israel’s technical assistance program for Latin American countries, it was announced here today by Javier Room Gomez president of the Federation of Mexican Farmers. Israel’s charge d’affaires here, Menahem W. Loval, confirming the announcement, said his Government will send its chief of Latin American technical assistance to Mexico to help work out the details of the training program for farmers from this country.
Mexico’s President Adolfo Lopez Mateos told the Farmers’ organization that Mexico will pay the travel costs for the agronomy trainees going to Israel, while Israel will defray the expenses in its own country. Mr. Loval announced also that Israel will conduct a course for Latin American experts in the field of irrigation, and will provide scholarships for Mexican and other Latin American specialists in irrigation.
